Dr. Manolis G. Manolakakis is a cosmetic and reconstructive facial surgeon with a decade of experience in both academic and private practice settings, and founder of Advanced Facial Surgery. His primary interest and areas of specialization are facial cosmetic surgical and non-surgical treatments, facial reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma management and treatment, and cleft lip and palate correction. Dr. Manolakakis is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists and American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons. Dr. Manolakakis is Director of the newly formed Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health - MMC, and a member of the Cleft Lip and Palate Team at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. His practice is limited to the aesthetic and functional restoration of the face, neck and mouth.
Dr. Manolakakis’ unique training in dentistry, maxillofacial surgery and advanced fellowship training in facial cosmetic surgery provides him with the ability to comprehensively evaluate and treat the face. He lectures internationally on facial cosmetic surgery techniques, and has published a chapter on facelifts in Cosmetic Surgery for the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He appears regularly in newspaper articles, radio, local and national television broadcasts and has been voted Top Dentist/Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon New Jersey for the past 4 years.
Demonstrating an unsurpassed level of commitment to the specialty, Dr. Manolakakis is actively involved with the education of oral and maxillofacial surgeons. He is an attending surgeon at New York University School of Dentistry, Department of OMS; Nassau University Medical Center; Rutgers Dental School; and St. Joes Regional Hospital, where he trains OMS surgery residents in facial cosmetic surgery, complex facial trauma and reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Manolakakis believes it is important to give back to communities in need. He has volunteered his time and expertise to the Health and Humanitarian Aid Foundation to perform facial reconstructive surgery.
